The artwork expresses the turbulent conditions we are currently experiencing in the wake of decades of global warming.<\/p>\n<p>Cry of the Earth \/ Tipping Point builds on the \u2018climate stripes\u2019 \u2013 a colour chart of global annual temperatures proposed by climate scientist Ed Hawkins in 2018 to visualise climate change. The stripes are doing a great job of making people aware of global warming, but I feel we need complementary imagery to help grasp today\u2019s climate dynamics.<\/p>\n<p>The climate stripes in Cry of the Earth \/ Tipping Point cover 64 years, from 1960 to 2024. Towards the end of this period, the stripes give way to a ripplescape, representing the turbulent climate dynamics we have experienced globally in recent years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Cry of the Earth \/ Tipping Point is a ripplescape about climate change.
